Special
Educational Needs
This
provision has proved to be successful, with all SEN children
(with
an Individual Education Plan) meeting their targets. We have a
specialist teacher who monitors and assesses their needs. New resource
materials add to this success and will continueto be of value to many
pupils.

Music
Teaching
Children
have the opportunity to learn the recorder in an 'Out of school' club.
Taught i ability groups they work towards the 'Bedfordshire Music Unit
Recorder Scheme'.
Children
can also audition for the school choir, and violin tuition which is
provided by the Bedfordshire Music Service.
We
are proud of our music at St. Mary's and feel that it adds a
special dimension to our children's development.

Sport
During
the year the children are given the opportunity to participate in
various sports. As part of the curriculum they are encouraged to
develop skills neccessary to prepare them for involvement in different
games. As they acquire these skills they will be introduced to games
such as short tennis, cricket, rounders and unihoc.

Citizenship
Award Scheme
We
believe in a positive approach with rewards for good behaviour and
thought for others. This scheme commends children for good citizenship
and also heightens awareness and develops self esteem,
